what happened with yours though? why did it spray oil all over? broken oil feed?

because mine has oil all over the inside of the compressor housing, i had to move the car and i may have hyper-spooled it driving it to my buddies house and smoked the seals on the inside

yap...happened to me also....
but the turbo is ok...
the cause of this is that the preasure of the oil is too high...
after i hare mounted an 1mm restrictor in the oil feed line ...it was all ok...

And i drove it like 6-7 kilometres.... and i florred 2 or 3 times... before monting the restrictor..

ok so i dont know about your specific situation cause they dont have oltcit's here in america, but talked to my buddy that works for Action Performance in daytona beach, FL. this dude KNOWS HIS STUFF.

basically here is the scoop on the dynamics of turbochargers:

for everyones knowledge: UNLESS YOU HAVE A BALL BEARING TURBO. DO NOT USE A OIL FEED LINE RESTRICTOR!!! THEY ARE FOR BALL BEARING TURBOS ONLY.

also: the high swooshing noise that my turbo is making are the wheels rubbing on the housing. ITS BAD. the turbo is officially bad. in fact it was bad when it was on my buddys car

i've read countless threads all over the internet on honda tech etc. and had people tell me that its totally fine just put a restrictor on it, this post from honda-tech sums it up perfectly:

"I don't think you need a restrictor for a t3-I think people see smoke because they have used or junk turbos, and the restrictor just makes the turbo stop smoking by starving the bearings."

the turbo doesnt need high preasure for lubricating ...all non ball bearing turbos have sleeve type bearings .... for example my tb02(garrett t2) turbo did have a little play on it but after it oiled it works ok....

High preassure in the oil inlett can make the seals leak ...

you need sometring like this...
http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant...egory_Code=BCS

i used an restrictor and i do not have any blue smoke .... out the tail pipe ...
exept my stem seals act up...

i do not remember if the compressor wheel touched the compresor housing....

hmmm interesting, dont get me wrong, the dude i talked to is the smartest person i know but still, common sense dictates that if what he said was correct, then you should have burnt up your turbo by now, thus perhaps its ok to use a restrictor......need to see what this turbo calls for pressure wise

ok its official, the turbo is done. i looked and my oil feed is already restricted AT the oil feed orifice plate that bolts to the turbo itself (restrictor plate) and its blowing by the seals - so its back to saving for my new turbo

very possible, in fact the sound i described that it makes my friend said is the wheels rubbing the housing so yeah this is a turbo that is from 80's mercedes turbo diesels etc so yeah at its oldest this turbo could be 30 years old
