Default Fiat devine cea mai bine vanduta marca straina din Germania

(AGI) - Rome, 16 Apr. – In Western Europe where the auto market declined by 8pct, Fiat Group Automobiles went against the trends and increased by 14.7pct. Their market share increased to 9.2pct. Sales in Germany were booming, with a 213pct increase where FGA became the main foreign auto manufacturer.
Excellent results were recorded also in France, with FGA tripling its market share and all of its models on the rise.
The contraction of the European auto market was considerably smaller, after 5 consecutive months of double-digit declines, March closed with an 8pct decrease with almost 1 million 430 thousand automobiles registered in Western Europe. A result that is mainly owed to a strong recovery on the German market (+39.9pct) and the inversion of the negative trends in France (+8pct), and Italy (+0.2pct), all countries that passed government initiatives to sustain demand. In this negative context, FGA is working against the trends, with 131,300 automobiles registered, and a 14.7pct increase, with a market share at 9.2pct, almost 2pct higher compared to March 2008 (7.4pct). Excellent results were also recorded in Germany, which registered a boom in sales of a record 212.8pct, allowing Fiat to reach a 7.6pct market share (growing 4.2pct compared to March 200, making Fiat the main foreign auto manufacturer on the German market and the 3rd overall. Positive results also arrived from France, where FGA increased its volume by 25.1pct, 3 times greater than growth registered on the French auto market, increasing its market share to 4.5pct (3.9pct last March), with all of its models on the rise. The Fiat brand registered 108,600 automobiles, obtaining a 13.8pct increase in sales and a 7.6pct market share, clearly improving compared to 6.1pct in March 2008. Fiat performed exceptionally in Germany, with volume up 218.8pct, its market share up 7.2pct and Panda conquering 1st place in its class. Volume also increased in France (+20.5pct) as well as market share (+0.4pct), with the Panda and 500 stable at 1st and 2nd place in the rankings of the most highly sold class A cars (together they hold a 30pct market share), while the Grande Punto is among the top 5 class B cars in sales. With 11,000 registration, the Lancia slightly improved its share (0.8pct) and increased its sales volume by 4.3pct. Particularly significant results were obtained in France where sales increased by 29.5pct and in Germany (+62.2pct). The Alfa Romeo continued its positive year, with 10,900 registrations in March, allowing the brand to register a 41.2pct jump in sales with a market share rising to 0.8pct, increasing by 0.3pct. Other than Italy (where volumes for the brand increased by 35.5pct), positive Alfa Romeo data for Germany (volume +257.3pct), France (+85.4pct), and the UK (+8.2pct in a market that is down over 30pct).
