majoritatea producatorilor folosesc chestia asta, cu diferite alte nume, vvti, v-tec, vanos etc. doar ca honda fans, nu stiu din ce motive, trag mai tare pe asta. nu e nimic iesit din comun, cum ziceam, cam toate masinile decente au asa ceva.

Probabil ca vtec-ul scoate 100cp/l si peste din motor aspirat si ceilalti nu.
Oricum 1.8 ala de 140cp cred ca e vtec doar cu numele

nu snt singurii. m3 dublu vanos 3.2L 343bhp... cred ca tot fass-ul vine de la faptul ca ei au fost printre primii care au folosit geometrie variabila si au stiut sa o marketeze bine.

au fost primii si au avut o gama mult mai larga de motoare cu geomtrie variabila si destul de fiabile (a nu se intelege ca cele de la bmw sau alta marca nu sunt)

@Bogdan_mb: cauta de la b18c5 (cel de pe integra type R) sau k20a2 (civic type R ep3) ....acolo real vtec

am vrut sa cumpar un accord 2.4 benzina vtec, cu o putere marita pana la~240 cp(cica) si am ramas uimit cat de puturoasa este masina, pe langa celelalte masini de aceeasi putere. eu tind sa cred ca era infundata, pt ca nu prea iti trezea nici o senzatie de sport, +mult mai "rea" este insignia mea de 2.0 diesel(ramp~208 cp).

Asta e senzatia oferita in general de vtec
Mai ales cand te dai jos dintr-o masina cu mult cuplu.
Depasirile mi s-au parut extrem de chinuitoare cu CTR din cauza asta.Spre horror

Da, dar uite, 1.8vtec are acelasi cuplu ca si 1.8vvt-ul de pe Vectra pe care o detin. Bine, depinde si la ce turatie obtinem acel cuplu, la vtec este la 4300rpm si la Opel la 3800rpm, dar, fiind doua motoare cu aceeasi putere si acelasi cuplu n-aveam motiv sa nu le compar, si pot sa spun ca la Vectra se simte mai puternic motorul si mai sigur in depasiri. Nu contest faptul ca vtec-ul e mai sportiv, dar parca la 1.8 te astepti la un altfel de feeling. E drept, vtec-ul chiar trage pana la 6500rpm, dar trage putin aiurea. Poate o sa-mi sara unii in cap ca de ce compar Opel cu Honda, dar dupa cum am spus, e vorba de doua motorizari extrem de apropiate ca si specificatii.
Cred ca facem cam mult offtopic.

Ca sa ne repetam un pic
Un vtec adevarat scoate 100cp/l
Ala de 1.8 e un motor clasic aspirat cu 16v ca si cel de pe Opelul tau.
Dar sigla vtec vinde mai bine motorul ala decat orice altceva.

daca tot am dat-o in oftopic, sa vedem ce "viiii tec" are R18a1 :

i-VTEC (intelligent-VTEC) introduced continuously variable camshaft phasing on the intake cam of DOHC VTEC engines.

The new SOHC i-VTEC implementation is an entirely new implementation that was introduced on said 2006 Honda Civic's R-series four cylinder SOHC engines. This implementation uses the so-called "fuel economy cam" and "high output cam" on one of the two intake valves of each cylinder (another intake valve is fixed). The "fuel economy cams" are designed to retard the closure of one intake valve and are activated between 1000-3500RPM and under low load condition. When "fuel economy cams" are activated, the intake valve closes well after the piston has started moving upwards in the compression stroke. During this time, the drive-by-wire throttle valve is open wider than normal. Due to the delayed closing of intake valve, a part of the intake mixture that has entered the combustion chamber is forced out again into the intake manifold. That way, the engine "emulates" a lower displacement than its actual one (its operation is also similar to an Atkinson cycle engine, with uneven compression and combustion strokes), which reduces pumping losses thus reducing fuel consumption and increases its efficiency. VTEC-off on the R18A means it can be considered to be running "high output cams". When the right conditions are achieved for fuel economy, VTEC engages the 2nd set, the 'low' or 'economy' cams. Thus VTEC-on on the R18A means it is running low cams.

According to Honda, this measure alone can reduce pumping losses by 16%. Under heavier loads, the engine switches back into its "high output cams", and it operates like a regular 4 stroke Otto cycle engine


With the continued introduction of vastly different i-VTEC systems, one may assume that the term is now a catch-all for creative valve control technologies from Honda
