476 horsepower AUDI RS6 PLUS
 

Though introduced over a year ago, Audi hasn't finished work on their masterpiece the RS6. The fastest of the RS-series cars, the RS6 is Audi's answer to the previous generation of BMW M5, and Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG as well as other supersedans. While some markets are just getting their fare share of the RS6, (Canada will only be receiving eighty of these sedans) Audi have gone back to their engineers in search of more power. Though we've only seen the concept version of the M5, and we have yet to see the next generation of S-Type R or Cadillac CTS, the RS6 must contend with the all-new E55. Before the new generation of A6 arrives on sale, Audi are prepared to send the RS6 off with one big final bang, and what a bang it is...
More power - enough to overtake the E55 in the horsepower race.

Called the RS6 Plus, Audi have reworked their brilliant 4.2 liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine to increase power output. With an increase of 29 horsepower, the original model's output has been boosted to 479 horsepower, marginally inching out Benz's E55 by just two horsepower. Torque remains constant at a more-than-ample 413 lb-ft. But there's another important change with the RS6 Plus - it's faster than any other supersedan on the market. The electronic limiter has been raised to 281.75 km/h going above and beyond the magical 250 km/h limit. To go along with the more powerful motor is a reduction in ride height of 10 mm, and firmer dampers. The final 15 weeks of the RS6's production will be Plus models. Prices and sales numbers have yet to be disclosed, but expect them to go fast and for top-dollar.

DA...ma rog o sa ajungem iar la discutzia cu motoarel BMW-ului:MIe mi se pare k ,din moment ce BMW le tzine piept lui AUDI si Merc cu motoarele sale aspirate,daca s-ar introduce motoare turbo pe M nu ar mai avea ce discuta cu vreun S,RS,sau amg :twisted: (atentzie:parere proprie!)

daca ar baga bmw-u' turbo pe motoarele care le au acum, le-ar rupe capu astora de la audi si merc...

partea proasta e ca fanii \"concurentei\" nu vor sa recunoasca asta ... eu zic ca e o lipsa de fairplay...

Motoarele de BMW nu sunt facute pt. Turbo.....
Deci nu se poate spune ca la noul M5 cu 500Cp i se pune un Turbo ajunge la 700Cp......
Pt Turbo, BMW-ul ar trebui sa scoata motoare noi....dar asta mai dureaza......se pare ca nu vor sa renunte la motoarele aspirante...sa vedem....
Si mie mi-ar place sa am un CSL cu Turbo pe el....insa nu exista .....

eu is fan merc. respectiv AMG si vroiam sa-ti zic ca daca cei de la Bmww Puteau si vroiau sa puna turbo stai calm ca nu erau asa tampiti sa nu-si puna turbo pe moidelele de BMW..dar sta calm ca nu-e chiar asa usor precum vorbim noi aici..deci in concluzie:ei nu pun turbo pe BMW din-trun anume motiv..nu??...

De fapt aici merge vorba si de traditie si de stil!!!! BMW are cateva modele cu turbo dar sunt modelele clasce cum ar fi BMW Turbo din 1972, si la momentul cela nu avea concurenti cum nu a avut nici in 1937 cu recordul de 279.508 km/h care n-a fost depasit timp de 14 ani !!! Asta asa pentru cultura noastra general!!!! :D :D :D

Eu cred ca nu pun turbo pe BMW din considerente de fiabilitate, pt ca, asa cum a zis si DZ1, ar trebui facute motoare noi, nu e chiar asha ushor sa pui un turbo pe un motor care a fost construit special sa dea totul din el ca motor aspirat. Asha putem discuta si de motoarele de pe Honda, super-motoare, pe care e foarte greu si costisitor sa pui turbo/compresor, insa daca ai pus, om te-ai facut...
