Topic for English speaking International users

Our small, but growing community would not be truly International if we didn't give users who don't speak romanian, a chance to share their ideas, thoughts and comments on this passion for cars and tuning we all share.
So please, whomever you are, feel free to use this topic and don't hesistate to get in touch with our small community of petrolheads! :-P

This is a very wellcome and bright idea !
thanx BogdanNZ for your interest
it will take maybe a while before some actual foreign lad will show some interest in ''romanian tuning'' but this will be a place as well for everybody to practice their english skills and knowledge !
so .. as bogdan was saying .. petrolheads UNITE :)) and fell free to give your opinions!!!

do new-zeelanders use words like "mate", "lad" etc? :D

What's the name of local NZ beer?

and Final question:

Who here has seen the Ali G show(s) and his movie, Ali G in da house?

I'm a HUGE fan, i find he's extremely funny especially since he speaks in some kind of brittish slang!

I also can't wait for the beginning of november when Borat the movie is coming out! Whoever hasn't seen the trailer yet, you should get at it ASAP (search on youtube), especially since it was filmed in Romania!

Keep it real!

this chap really is funny lads!:)

waching ALi G (in the house) (the show has exact name) when i can .. that guy is NUTS !!!!
non stop laugh

now pimpy.. the movie BORAT !
seen the comercial when i went to see f@kin' DIRTY SANCEZ (sick bastards)
was filmed in romania but i'm not happy with the fact that he says he is in khazakstan and films fokin gipsy's and that sort of romanian trouble .. but still is hillarious and i will go to see him after 3.11.06!

cheers mates :)

pimp_lex 11-10-06 22:38

Re: Topic for English speaking International users

i like Ali G so much i actually bought his dvd's, season 1 and 2, the show is called Da Ali G show.

Well, i don;t mind he filmed in Romania with all the gypsies as long as he doesn;t actually say it's Romania :D. I'm sure the Kazahstan countryside isn;t far from that though, they probably just have a Lada being pulled by horses, instead of a Dacia

Chinkuy!

Yes mate' ;). Lad on the other hand is not and is mainly used in the UK and Ireland...the Irish Lad can confirm this ;)
Quote:

What's the name of local NZ beer?
The most "local" beer for the Auckland region is called Lion Red.It's kind of got the same taste as a Heineken but with somewhat less alcohol and more water...But from my point of view the best NZ beer, is Speights, which is more local to the South Island and has a long tradition here.It is a black ale, although they still call it beer here, very similar to Guinness but not as good as Guinness...8)
ALIiiiiiiiiiiiii GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!:-P  :o
I was actually in the UK whilst the whole Ali G phenomenon started.I remember I used to gather up with my mates there after school and talk about Ali G episodes -wicked Boyakasha :D.It was so massive back then(about 5-6 years ago) that people actually started talking like him, wearing the same type of clothes and behaving like him...awwwwww those were the days! :(
I've seen ALL of the episodes, including the movies and the ones he did in the US...The guy's a genius no doubt about it.
Max respect for all da Ali G fans out there...
"Is it 'cos I is black?" lolllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

pimp_lex 12-10-06 03:36

Re: Topic for English speaking International users

i dunno why but i really don't like Guinness. the only black ale i like is Amstel and our own Silva. Molson used to make a balck ale beer to that was amazing but they took off the market, i guess it wasn't succesfull.
I never saw any NZ beer for sale here, i;d like to try it. The only thing from Oceania is Foster's.

I haven't seen all the episodes he did in the UK, i saw some of them and they're funny too but i dunno why they're not on any dvd for sale.

I has a dream: of little black girls and little white girls ..... playin wit each other!
big up yourself! safe

BogdanNZ 12-10-06 04:16

Re: Topic for English speaking International users

:D So you've only seen the US episodes???
The real old-school ones are the original UK ones...and are probably harder to get over there...try the net...even places like youtube might have some...
Beer-wise, I expect you wouldn't be able to get any NZ beers over there as most are made for the local and AUZ markets...and would probably not be able to compete in such a large and competitive market as Canada or the US

pimp_lex 12-10-06 07:24

Re: Topic for English speaking International users

they p[robably could if priced right but usually all imported beers here cost an arm and a leg :(

I've seen a few UK episodes on youtube, but i'm sure there's more. I'm gonna try to find all of them and watch.....

In Romania nobody knew about Ali G, i asked this summer a few of my buddies there but they had no clue.....

BogdanNZ 13-10-06 04:00

Re: Topic for English speaking International users

Whoa...Ursus
I can only get Murfatlar wines here, but no beers...sometimes I miss sipping an Ursus or a Silva...

Nicknamed_13 13-10-06 06:23

Re: Topic for English speaking International users

Do you? I know Ursus was a good beer...but still...I find Lion Red better and Export Gold....a bit better than Ursus (I'm not even comparing to Heineken or Carlsberg or otha stuff like dat..that would be funny).

draculas 14-10-06 08:02

ursus is ursus but CORONA rules :) now and forever :D

Re: Topic for English speaking International users

Sorry to dissapoint you guys, but Corona is for ladies from my point of view. It's just got a fancy label and is expensive as hell...It's nice if you're having it on a date or just before dinner, but it's no f'king good if you want to get pissed ;) That's what I meant when I said I missed drinking Ursus or Silva...(I sound like I'm a f'king alcoholic  )

You guys don't understand!!! (about beer that is)
Fk Corona, Heineken, Bud, Miller, etc!
I would happily trade you any of those beers for an Ursus or Gambrinus, LOL!

And yeah, WOB sorry for the off topic!
Cheers,
Florin

Biggest achievement for 06 for me... Being alive and healthy ;)

pimp_lex 05-12-06 21:31

Re: Topic for English speaking International users

Ursus maybe but gambrinus....oh, man! That's worse than like President's choice beer we have here!

Hey, Ali G fans, have you guys seen Borat yet? I saw it next day after the premiere and i, as i expected, laughed my ass off!

What's everyone doing for New Year's?

Nicknamed_13 06-12-06 03:03

Re: Topic for English speaking International users

Borat? for the first time I ever went to c a movie @ cinema...couldn't finish my popcorn...I was chocking with it every 5 minutes. I didn't kno that it was filmed in Mother Romania but after I saw the inside of house I knew it was a posibility (and a certainty after those good old romanian swears).

New Year? Who knows?

U'D TRADE A HEINEKEN 4 A FREAKIN' GAMBRINUS???? WHEN AND WHERE?

Re: Topic for English speaking International users

No. I always go to St Lukes. I used to live in Mt. Eden and during highschool I had no money so was trying to skip paying for carpark in da city....kinda got used to St Lukes then so only going there.
But yeah Borat is funny. Usually when you watch those trailers...well they show you the best of what the movie can offer...with Borat is the other way around...Its a mix of disgusting and funny as hell....enjoy my friend.

OMG....2 Heinekens for one Gambrinus....Bro we gotta catch up.....this is like Disneyland for alcoholics. LOL

pimp_lex 06-12-06 16:32

Re: Topic for English speaking International users

speaking of Disney land for alcoholics, you guys from NZ and Ireland, do u go to all-inclusive resorts? Are there any fairly close, like for us canadians Cuba or other islands in the Carribean, so u don't spedn to much on the plane ticket?

All-inclusives are definetely like a one week unlimited pass to Disneworld, for Alcoholics! I juts came back from a 5 day stay in one of these, in The Bahamas......my God, i just found a new hobby :D

I'm never going to St. Lukes again! We were supposed to watch Borat there from 7.15...ended up in a traffic jam in the car park @ around 7(on the top level)...because there weren't enough parking spaces so people just stopped and waited for cars to leave...:x.After around 20 min of cursing, swearing, crying and yelling...I headed for the exit...and obviously it took like half an hour just to get out of the lot...x-mas shoppers be damned!!!
It won't be showing anymore in cinemas so I've got to download it...anyways we ended up renting DVDs and eating pizza...

Fiji, Tonga, Samoa...but they're expensive...the Gold Coast in Auzzie would be more accesible to my pocket...

pimp_lex 07-12-06 15:35

Re: Topic for English speaking International users

imagine how expesnive these places are for us, if for you guys it's expensive.....i was looking at Fiji and tahiti and just the plane ticket is ~2000$......crazy!

are there any all-inclusives on the coast of Australia? Or in one of the many islands owned by NZ and AUS?

BogdanNZ 09-12-06 05:10

Re: Topic for English speaking International users

Not sure about NZ, haven't looked into it to be honest, but I'm pretty sure you can find an all-inclusive on the eastern coast of Auzzie, either on the Gold coast or maybe Sunshine coast which would be cheaper for us here...

pimp_lex 09-12-06 15:57

Re: Topic for English speaking International users

well, u should look into it, all-inclusives are the shiznit :D, u just walk around with no money, nothing, and order what drink/food you want, when you want and as much as you want!

Nicknamed_13 10-12-06 05:42

Re: Topic for English speaking International users

LOOL. I know...St Lukes is packed at certain times....u just gotta know the place better...u got parking at the park (30 seconds walk from St Lukes) and cross da road behind AA....

I'm pretty sure you have certain cruises from NZ (5 day cruises or something) where u just do wateva....eat, drink, swim and F**K without paying anything else extra (except the casino where u can even lose ur wife...don't take it the hrad way...nowadays she can go to supermarket and you lost her...)
