The greatest success story of the Ford Mustangs was probably the Shelby Mustangs of the late 1960's. 1967 was the first year for a big block Shelby Mustang . The mere size of this FE-series big-block V8 engine required Ford to change the car's chassis to accommodate it. Although this large engine was listed as an optional engine, few of these, if any, ever left the factory. Ford was not only changing the body, but it was also focusing on a different buyer by offering many more options. Mustang sales soared in 1967 more than five times that of the previous year.
Shelby named this car the GT-500. Apparently the name was just as arbitrary as the GT-350 name with no relationship to the new engine size or any other obvious feature. Until 1968, the Shelby Mustang had been a custom built at Carroll Shelby's own facilities in California. In 1968 production of the Shelby Mustang was moved to Michigan. The GT -500 was introduced with air scoops and a redesigned hood. The high-beams were center mounted and supplanted by fog lamps. In April of that year, Ford introduced the 428 Cobra Jet V-8 engine and truly turned this vehicle into a much quicker car. This 1968 1/2 model Shelby was named GT500-KR with the KR indicating that this car was truly the King of the Road. Only 933 of these vehicles were produced. Thirty-four years latter it difficult to find one of these beauties in good condition. |

Cum sa nu mai fie lumea pasionata de ford. Este unul dintre producatorii mei preferati doar ca in Europa modelele sunt mult mai slabe ca cele din State. Mi imi place Ford Gt ul..

Super masina. Sincer insa nu mi-as cumpara asa ceva. Prefer ceva care sa fie de ultima generatie in materie de dotari si tehnologie.

Chiar nu va place poza de mai sus..sau mai bine zis masina? :cry:

Poza nu e dintre cele mai reusite, dar e acceptabila. Masina insa nu ma inspira deloc. De ce?
Pentru ca mi se pare un fel de frectie la picior de lemn. Au luat un Zetec de 2 litri si l-au facut bijuterie, turbo de la aceeasi firma ca si la ferrari f40, intercoolerul e si el prototip etc, au scos 304 HP daca nu ma insel. Si le-au pus pe o masina cu tractiune fata, unde mai mult de 200 de cai e deja crima (vezi cum se comporta la condus sportiv alfa 147 GTA fara traction-control). Normal ca nu a ajuns in productia de serie. |
