The Eagle brand was born in 1987 when Chrysler purchased the assets of American Motors Corporation (AMC). At that time, AMC was selling a sedan called the Eagle. Chrysler continued selling the Eagle, eventually adding other products to the mix. Eagle vehicles shared engines and platforms with other Chrysler products and even a few designs with French automaker Renault. Eagles were sold at select Jeep dealerships and were phased-out by 1998.
