Care este avantajul unui motor W fata de V (la acelasi nr de cilindrii bineinteles ) inafara de faptul ca este mai scurt ? ( In loc de 2x6 cilindri la v 3x4 cilindrii la W ) . Solutiile ca V , W , boxer sau stea sunt vechi . Ar fi interesant de ce n-a adoptat W nimeni din F1 avand in vedere ca arborele e mai scurt ?

W-ul ala mentionat de la Vw e de fapt un V format din doua blocuri VR (ce e asta aflati si singuri de aici: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VR6_engine). Solutia e extrem de proasta pentru ca e ingramadita (trasee de evacuare langa cele de admisie, putin spatiu pentru distributie etc.). Un V12 clasic e mai bine echilibrat, mai aerisit si inca nu e inutil de lung (V12 de pe F50 atingea turatii mari spre foarte mari).

Merci wtcvictim si einstein 1984 pt lamuriri . Nu m-am gandit sa ma uit pe wikipedia dar oricum argumentatia voastra este absolut pertinenta si suficienta .

Am uitat sa mentionez ca arborele cotit de pe W12 lui VW are tot 6 manetoane, ca si cel de V12 obisnuit.

numarul de manetoane la 6 in linie este la fel ca la v6 dar arborele mi se pare mai scurt . S-ar putea sa fie o impresie desi nu cred . Ford v6 3000 cc are arborele mai scurt decat BMW 6 linie 3000 cc . Motorul de Ford este mai scurt . Dar nu insist pe idee .
