Coios rau si E63 S, se vede si pe VIR, unde a scos un timp f. bun, sunt curios daca noul M5 il va bate pe circuit, ca in linie dreapta nu cred ca are sanse, observ ca la M5, 0-200km/h e dat de fabrica in 11.1s, iar AMG-ul are in teste 10.8 sau 10.9 s. Asta e de la cuplu ala monstruos, valoare pe care concurenta nu are cum sa o depaseasca, fiind limitati de cutie. Sunt curios ce solutii aftermarket exista pt intarirea cutiei ZF. La aia cu duble ambreiaj gaseai upgradeuri f. smekere de la Dodson. Sper ca deja lucreaza si la asta de la ZF. THE VERDICT

WE WERE EXPECTING THE arguments to rage for days over this one, but in the final reckoning, the finishing order proved to be easier to settle on than we ever imagined. That’s not to say the end result wasn’t surprising…

Audi RS5

It’s often difficult to shake off preconceptions when putting together tests like this, particularly when it comes to fast Audis, but the latest RS5 turned our expectations on their head. It’s the RS5’s wide bandwidth of abilities that’s truly astonishing; at the touch of a button it can be turned from the GT car Audi claims it to be to a steely cored performance coupe.‘ Slowly but surely, it becomes apparent that this is a serious car,’ says Towler. ‘Its performance is instant and savage, but it’s the sophistication of its damping – the same quality that makes it such an easy car to live with – that is the key to its real-world pace.’ If there’s a criticism, it’s that the Audi lacks instant access to thrills. There’s excitement there, but you have to dig a little deeper to find the qualities that make you appreciate it more. Does it do enough to topple the Mercedes-AMG C63 S? Yes, but by the narrowest of margins.

Mercedes AMG C63 S

Make no mistake, we love the bombastic and entertaining C63 S, particularly its firecracker of an engine – the twin-turbo V8 is one of the best in the business. Yet while its instant-gratification fun is hard to resist, its abilities are a little uneven in this company, and its hefty kerb weight means it is the slowest at the track (and thirstiest at the pumps). Factor in its poor cabin build and a hefty £7485 premium over the next cheapest car here and its fate behind the Audi is sealed. Barker sums it up nicely: ‘Overall, it doesn’t feel as well resolved or as engaging as the other two. It has the most attention-grabbing exhaust note, but in this company Mercedes is selling the sizzle, not the sausage.’

BMW M4 CP

So where does that leave the M4? Way out in front is the short answer. It’s taken BMW a while, but this 2018MY Competition Package version is the car the M4 should have been from the start. From its near-perfect weight distribution to its pared-back kerb weight, the fast and fun BMW feels like a car that’s been developed with the driver’s best interests at heart. ‘It has an authenticity to it that cuts through the challenge of the other two,’ says Towler. ‘It shines brightly pretty much all the time. Whatever the mood, whatever the journey, the M4 feels like an event, like a real performance car, like a car to covet and treasure.’ Like a winner.

ACCELERATION

The C63 roar to 60mph in 4.3sec, which is a few tenths behind Merc’s claim of 3.9sec to 62 but an impressive achievement when you consider the C63 tips our scales at a portly 1847kg.

The carbonfibre-roofed M4 is far trimmer, weighing in at just 1645kg. This helps explain why it’s just a tenth slower to 60mph than the C63, despite a 59bhp power deficit. That’s about as big as the gap gets between these two, and remarkably they both flash past 150mph in 21.1sec.

The RS5 catapults off the line like a fighter jet being fired down the deck of an aircraft carrier. The result is 60mph in a laugh-out-loud 3.6sec. Audi modestly claims 3.9sec to 62. However, the Audi’s mass and weaker top end tell eventually and beyond 100mph it starts to lose ground to the other two. By 150mph it’s a full two seconds in arrears.

se tine bine RS7 construit pe o platforma tehnica veche de 7 ani.
then again, a aparut M5, la anul va fi si RS7 pe platform noua si Mercedes va cobora acolo unde ii este locul, adica pe 3.

Nush, dar arata demential AMG-ul, la mine conteaza mai mult decat niste cifre, care si asa sunt extrem de apropiate. Noul M5 mi se pare foarte audizat la design, Bmw tre sa faca ceva cu designu', mai nou au dat in mania narilor umflate.

Masuratori Autobild: Audi RS 5/BMW M4/Mercedes-AMG C 63 S. Interesant ca apar si masuratori motor la dyno, in tabel. Smecheria la Audi e cuplul, ca la putere nu e mare diferenta.

mi se pare un super fail acest RS5.
gras ca un porc, cele mai proaste frane, total depasit la rolling, cel mai slab handling pe circuit.

e drept, ca nici M4 sau C-amg nu sunt in variantele standard, dar totusi...

audi deja a anunat niste masuri de coborare a greutatii pt RS4/5cu un pachet carbon edition: 60kg pt rs5 respective 80kg pt RS4 si poate doar atunci sa recupereze partial dezavantajul fata de competitive

Asta vad ca are plafonu de carbon care salveaza cica doar vreo 3 kile,avea ceramice si e mai usor ca ultimul testat, totusi ala vechi nu prea cobora sub 1800 kg, e decenet configurata si pretul in test e f. bun pt o masina awd, spre deosebire de aberatia din dreptul M4-lui, care costa fix cat M4 CS. Oricum o sa fie cele mai rapide la liniute si pe strada, ca lumea le chipuieste si sa vezi atunci ce se schimba treaba.
