Run an M50 intake manifold, M3 cams, cold air intake, ECU tune, underdrive pulleys, electric primary fan, equal length shorty headers, track pipe, aftermarket rear exhaust, a lightweight flywheel, and a manual 96-99 3.23 LSD diff or an auto 95-99 3.38 LSD diff. Pick the ones you can afford and add the rest as time goes on.
